So, I found this article while perusing EOnline's twitter site, which suggested that since Taylor Swift is set to host Saturday Night Live on Nov. 7, that she will seek revenge on Kanye West for essentially ruining her first MTV Video Music Award acceptance speech, which we covered in our entertainment briefing earlier in class. Saturday Night Live is known for making fun of celebrities, even having celebrities make fun of themselves. For example, I remember when Mary Kate Olsen was going through her what we like to call "anorexic phase," she made fun of herself on SNL saying "EAT A SANDWICH!" to a character that was supposed to be playing herself in the skit. Not many people take SNL seriously, due to their spoofing of politicians and celebrities. It will be interesting to see whether Taylor Swift actually addresses the Kanye West interruption issue in a skit, which I'm sure SNL would love. However, I do think it would be very classy of Taylor if she avoided addressing the issue on SNL, but it probably will come up somewhere, I'll have to watch and find out.
Here's the link to the short article:

ReplyDeleteThanks to social media and all the buzz on the internet, I don't think Taylor Swift and SNL can avoid bringing up the Video Music Awards. This remind me of Snakes on a Plane. Originally, the line "I"m sick of these mother fucking snakes on this mother fucking planes," was not in the script. However, fans online wanted this line added, and the line was written in, even causing the rating to go from PG13 to R! As seen so many times in social media, it's usually best to listen to the people!
